Why won't Instagram photos save to Gallery?

Echo Dot Smart Speaker

Instagram is one of the most popular social media applications in the world, with users sharing photos, videos, and stories on the platform for commercial, entertainment, and mass dissemination purposes. Over the years, it has become a cultural center that is home to a lot of influential people.

There are several businesses that have generated massive growth just through their online Instagram audience. For various use cases, people on Instagram often feel the need to save their photos from the platform to their smartphone, and there is an easy way to do it.

You can save shared photos to your Instagram profile on your smartphone with a few simple steps. The photo can be saved in the phone's Gallery and can be accessed at any time, even without an internet connection.

However, it is not something that always works, so it is very common to see some people asking in forums how they can solve the error when saving their Instagram photos.

My Instagram photos are not saving in the Gallery

To save your Instagram profile photos to your phone, make sure you've downloaded the app, logged in, and have a working internet connection.

In your profile tab, you can see all the photos you've shared over the years you've been sharing on Instagram. Users can easily save their photos back to their phone's Gallery by following the steps mentioned below:

  • Enter your profile and hit the three horizontal lines in the upper right corner.
  • From there, tap on the “Settings” option at the bottom of the menu.
  • Next, click on the “Account” option.
  • Select “Original Posts” (for Android users) or select “Original Photos” (for iPhone users).
  • Within this option, click the switch for “Save Posted Photos” and activate it. iPhone users should activate the option “Save Original Photos”.

Conclusion on the error to save photos on the mobile

With these options activated, all the photos you post on Instagram will also be saved in the Gallery (library) of the phone.

Your Gallery should display a separate album named Instagram Photos. The company notes that people using Instagram on Android may see a delay in photos appearing in their phone's Instagram photo album.
